Elevating the power of te ao Māori within Rangiata Sky.
Sky has a beautiful te reo Māori name, expressing their role to reflect the stories of Aotearoa across the Sky through its media platform.
Rangiata Sky invited Ira to create the foundations of a visual expression of their commitment to te ao Māori.
We worked closely with Kirstin Te Wao-Edmonds, the Pou Ārahi - Head of Māori Strategy to align the visual language to the strategic priorities in Kia Rere, Rautaki Māori.
Used internally to inspire and unify Rangiata Sky’s people and partners.
Expressing the aspiration to elevate te ao Māori within Rangiata Sky.
Our inspiration came from the cultural motif, called Niho Taniwha, or the tooth of the taniwha. It represents the vitality and energy of dynamic leadership and the strength and resilience to achieve success.
The Niho Taniwha are then elevate and soar from the earth, upwards into the sky, a connective energy that connects us to both Rangi and Papatūānuku.
Energising Rangiata Sky’s people to embrace values that can transform our world.
The visual language can be used to express cultural thinking and priorities within an authentic expression. We created a range of patterns, iconography and info-graphics.
